We are looking for an influential Compliance Leader to join the Senior Leadership Team at the Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC) in Steetley, Nottinghamshire. CEMC is at the heart of Laing O'Rourke's commitment to offsite manufacturing.

The successful Compliance Leader will support the CEMC leadership in developing and maintaining the Quality Management System, striving for best-in-class quality arrangements to deliver to normative and contractual requirements for in-house and external customers, and to support operational excellence. They will support the leadership vision, report on the performance of the Quality Management System and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

CEMC is the industry leading offsite precast facility, which began production in July 2009, manufacturing a range of products including walls, floors, columns, beams, platforms and bridge components for Laing O'Rourke's and external client's projects throughout the UK. Current projects include Everton's new stadium, Olympia redevelopment, Oxford Humanities and various HS2 packages.

What will the role look like?

  • The role of the Compliance Lead at CEMC is to drive continual improvement in the overall business operating system for the CEMC, ensuring compliance to all Legal, Company and Client requirements.
  • In addition, to define the vision and strategy for the remit and ensure adequate resources and support to deliver an effective 'process approach' management system to drive consistent, effective process performance, delivering value (Quality, Cost, Programme) benefits to the business and our clients
  • The Compliance Lead will set the frameworks and processes required to ensure CEMC and Client Product Quality requirements are effectively achieved
  • This is a leadership role, and a Subject Matter Expert on Quality Management, that acts as the Quality conscience of the manufacturing facility, and exists to help set the Quality culture across all functions at CEMC

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Experience of Quality Leadership in a complex Manufacturing facility or Construction/Engineering Projects.
  • Strong communicator in all mediums and confidence in developing relationships across the organisation, supply chain, clients, and wider project networks.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and how it is applied to eliminate risk and build in excellence.
  • Able to challenge in an engaging way, helping uplift the Quality culture of the organisation
  • A Chartered Member of the (CQI) Chartered Quality Institute (or an equivalent recognised Quality body).

We are also looking for a Quality Manager who will report to this Compliance Leader and be responsible for the management and continual improvement of Product Quality Performance across all areas of CEMC, delivering value for clients and the internal business. For this role we are looking for someone with precast concrete manufacturing experience.
