The new stadium is being designed by Populous, which also designed the London 2012 Olympic Stadium. Consulting engineer is Mott MacDonald.

Across the city, a £26m project to increase the capacity of the Irish Football Association’s Windsor Park stadium from 12,000 to 18,000 is also planned.
