A total of 275 traffic light sets from Pike’s new Evolution range will join the hire inventory of A-Plant Lux Traffic Control & Management.
The Evolution units have a flexible, configurable system that allows control for either just vehicles, vehicles and pedestrians, or pedestrian-only installations.
A-Plant Lux business development director Jim McLachlan said: “We believe these units are the most innovative on the market and offer significant benefits over more conventional traffic management solutions. Allowing up to nine vehicle phases and eight pedestrian crossing points, they have the ability to control a wider range of roadwork situations than ever before. They meet the growing need from highways and local authorities to provide pedestrian facilities at roadworks, which is becoming increasingly important in duty of care and improves pedestrian safety at traffic lights crossing.”
They have full type approval to the Highways England specifications TR 2502B, TR 2537A and TR 2538A. With automatic communications restart, last mode set-up for quick start configurations and a user interface with LED text display, each controller can be configured as a master or slave, while the radio-linked system has no interconnecting cables.
