'The Tower’ at Dubai Creek Harbour. will be the focal point of a major new residential and leisure development. Calatrava who is leading the design and engineering work for the project, which has been commissioned by Dubai-based Emaar Properties.
Plans for the US$1bn (£700m) tower were announced in April. The final height has not yet been given, though it will reach a greater height than the 828m-tall Burj Khalifa, which has been the world’s tallest building since 2009 (link opens in new tab).
Aurecon project director Adrian Jones said: “The Tower will test the craftsmanship of Aurecon as we play our part in making a mark on the built fabric of mankind. It is an absolute privilege to be entrusted by Santiago Calatrava and Emaar Properties to work on this project, and we have assembled a stellar team to bring this idea to life.”
