Caddick wins £7.2m bottling plant

2 Aug 12 Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction has won a £7.2m contract to design and build a new bottling hall for Carlsberg UK at its brewery in Northampton.

The 7,000 sq m expansion to current facilities will enable Carlsberg UK to double its production of brands including Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export, Carlsberg Special Brew, Tuborg, Skol, Holsten and San Miguel beers to 10 million bottles a year  when it opens in March 2013.

Carlsberg UK, project manager Stephen Shoesmith-Evans said: “It was clear Caddick Construction was the right partner to design and build the new bottling hall both in terms of the timescales we required and the attention they pay to the quality and finish of the building. We want the new bottling hall to both stand out externally as a great building, but also to raise the bar internally on our production environments and we believe Caddick is the right company to help us achieve that.”

Caddick Construction managing director Andrew Murray said: "We have worked hard to win the project and look forward to making it a success and to extending our expertise in this specialist sector of construction.”
