Galliford Try targets marine and power sectors with new MDs

3 Jul 15 Galliford Try has appointed managing directors at two new business units within its infrastructure division.

Dedicated business areas for environmental work and for power & security have been set up within Galliford Try’s infrastructure division

Bob Gibbon is managing director of Environmental and Alan Mansfield heads up Power & Security.

In his new role, Bob Gibbon will be responsible for growing the business in flood alleviation, coastal, marine and port projects in England and Wales. He joined Galliford Try in 2009 as regional director for its civil engineering business. He was previously Birse Civils’ northwest regional operations director. He is credited with winning new business for Galliford Try including frameworks with Manchester Airports Group and Midlands Highways Alliance as well as contracts for sea defence work at Blackpool, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and South Shields.

Alan Mansfield joined the company from Balfour Beatty in 2003 and has held several senior roles within Galliford Try’s water and divisional projects businesses, most recently as operations director on the Scottish Water framework. He has experience managing complex bids with joint venture partners, most recently the Collaborative Delivery Framework with Highways England.

In his new role, Mr Mansfield will be responsible for work in power transmission, distribution and generation schemes as well as critical national infrastructure security projects across the UK.
