With a platform height of 180ft – or 55m, it is a full 45ft higher than Genie’s previous biggest boom and 30ft higher than competitor JLG’s previous record holder.
The machine was launched this week at the Bauma construction equipment trade fair in Munich.
Safe working load of the basket is 340kg and gross vehicle weight is 25 tonnes.
Powered by a 74hp diesel engine, the boom takes five minutes to extend to its full height.
The patented chassis stabilisers fold away to 2.49m transport width. When deployed for operations, the stabilisers provide a 5-metre by 5-metre footprint.
Shipping begins in the second half of 2013 with two of the first units coming to the UK to join Kimberley Access.
