ISG to refurbish London hotels

24 Apr 14 ISG has been awarded fit out projects to refurbish guest bedrooms at two central London hotels, Sanderson and St Martin’s Lane, both managed by Morgans Hotel Group.

Sanderson is a Grade II* listed building, built in 1957-60 by Reginald Uren of Slater, Moberly and Uren.
Sanderson is a Grade II* listed building, built in 1957-60 by Reginald Uren of Slater, Moberly and Uren.

ISG will refurbish all 150 guest rooms at the Sanderson and all 204 rooms at the St Martin’s Lane and communal corridors, with both projects delivered simultaneously. Both hotels are rated five star.

ISG plans to phase the projects on a floor-by-floor basis to minimise the impact of the work on hotel operations. Both hotels will remain open for business throughout. The contractor will remove all existing fixtures and fittings from guest rooms. Walls and ceilings will be modified to integrate new services and then decorated, repairs made to timber floors, contemporary door furniture installed and a package of electrical upgrades undertaken, including the provision of new multi-media hubs.

Peter Kilby, divisional managing director for ISG’s hotels and hospitality division, said: “Adding Morgans Hotel Group to our growing portfolio of international luxury hotel operators represents a key win for the business, especially as we are now able to showcase our credentials within two of London’s most prestigious and design-oriented hotels. Delivering these significant upgrades without impacting on the guest experience is central to the success of both projects and we are liaising closely with hotel staff to ensure a seamless roll out of this new high-specification accommodation.”
