NY bus station redevelopment awarded

9 Aug 13 Tutor Perini has won a US$100m contract for the redevelopment of the George Washington Bridge bus station in New York.

Subsidiary Tutor Perini Building will carry out the work for George Washington Bridge Development Venture, the project development partner for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.

The project will develop the existing facility into a combined bus station and multi-tenant shopping centre. The four-storey building will include approximately 30,000 sq ft of new construction and approximately 98,000 sq ft of renovation. STV is the project designer.

Construction is expected to begin this year with substantial completion in 2015.
