The work involves the construction of 10 new shops, a library and community space with associated car parking and public realm works, including a town square.
The work to be undertaken by Clark Contracts is the first phase of the £7.6m regeneration of Denny Town Centre, led by Falkirk Council, with support from the Scottish government’s regeneration fund.
To accommodate the works, several local retailers have re-located to temporary premises and they are scheduled to move back in to the new retail units in September 2016, with completion of all Phase One works scheduled for September 2017.
By reputation, Denny is one of Scotland’s least beautiful towns. However, the town centre site has now being cleared of debris in preparation for construction work to start on the first phase of the new town centre.
