The contract for the Swedish Maritime Administration, Sjöfartsverket, involves work on the Södertälje Canal south of Stockholm. The scope of Züblin’s construction and installation work involves aspects such as a new lock head, lock gates, lock chamber, machine control house and new sheet piling along the canal including a ship collision guiding system. The project starts this month for completion by the end of 2019.
The project forms part of the Mälaren project, whose purpose is to improve maritime safety and accessibility of public waterways through the Södertälje Canal to the ports of Västerås and Köping.
