The contract covers the Qatar Integrated Rail Project’s Red Line North and Green Line as well as two additional stations.
The metro network in Qatar’s capital will consist of four lines - Red, Green, Gold and Blue - with plans for over 100 stations across a total length of more than 200km. The overall rail project also includes plans for a light rail transit system in Lusail and long-distance freight and high-speed passenger rail lines.
Thyssenkrupp Elevator (Middle East) CEO Abdul Hamid El Ayoubi said: “We are extremely proud of our continuous participation in Qatar’s infrastructure-driven development, having already supplied almost 400 units for the recently inaugurated Hamad International Airport in Doha.”
