The winning Comol5 joint venture consists of Mobilis, Croonwolter & dros, DEME Infra Marine Contractors and Vinci Construction Grands Projets, each with a 25% stake in the contract.
Comol5 will be responsible for the reconstruction of the Leiden West motorway junction and the construction of the new 4km N434road, including a 2.2km bored tunnel. The team will also carry out 12km of motorway widening and adaptations to the A4 and A44 required for construction of the Rijnland Route. In addition to construction, which will be completed in about six years, the contract involves maintenance for 15 years.
Comol5 submitted most economically advantageous tender – added value was taken into account as well as price. Criteria that played a role in the decision included limiting environmental nuisance, traffic nuisance and risks.
