The new embassy compound for the United States Department of State Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO) is being constructed on 43 acres of US government-owned property in Aoukar, located approximately 11km north of Beirut city in Lebanon. The embassy is expected to achieve LEED Silver.
In addition to structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services, Arup is also providing site electrical infrastructure, façades, fire and life safety, acoustics, audio visual, lighting, and sustainability services.
In addition to the Beirut Embassy, Arup is working on the new US Embassy, which is currently under construction, as well as the new consulate in Matamoros, Mexico.
