II.1.4) Short description
City of Wolverhampton Council requires an established and competent Contractor (The Contractor) to provide Asbestos Removal services for the Council's corporate and community buildings and maintained schools.
The Council has a diverse stock portfolio which includes various types of sleeping accommodation, commercial and school buildings and environments. Examples may include (but are not limited to):
• Single occupier and multiple occupancy buildings –low and medium -rise buildings, including those
housing vulnerable persons
• Common areas of buildings, e.g., circulation areas and means of escape
• Managed public access buildings
• Commercial buildings such as schools, offices and shops
• Boiler rooms / pump houses
• Offices including those occupied by multiple tenants
• Supported/care sleeping accommodation
Asbestos removal/remedial works must be carried out in accordance with the following Regulations/Guidance's:
•The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
•Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015
•Approved Code of Practise L143
•The Licensed Contractors Guide HGS247
•Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
•The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005
