The University of Leeds is also looking for a design and build contractor to redevelop St Marks flats for more than 500 students.
Aberystwyth University wants a private sector partner to develop the greenfield Penglais Farm Site into accommodation for approximately 1,000 students, along with ancillary leisure and recreational spaces. The project may also include retail and catering commercial outlets.
The Welsh university says that it envisages being the landlord to the students itself and retaining the right to nominate to rooms and to directly contract with the occupants. However, it also says that it will consider various contract structures.
The private sector project partner would design, build, finance and operate the development.
