The contract is modeled as a fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) based on an industry standard price book. This Simplified Acquisition Base Engineer (SABER) contract will be used to deliver multi-trade renovations and small scale new construction with minimum design requirements. Captain Jared Casebolt of 48 Civil Engineer Squadron said: “Because it is a new program, the location of the solicitation information and the structure of the contract may be unfamiliar to some UK contractors. We want to reach as many contractors as possible with this opportunity.”
