Mayor of London Boris Johnson has approved plans for the £4.5bn regeneration of Brent Cross in Cricklewood, north London.
Outline plans for the scheme were approved by Barnet council in November.
The proposals from developers Brookfield Europe, Hammerson and Standard Life Investments will create a 250-acre town centre for the area over the next 20 years.
It will include improvements to highways and road junctions in the area.
The scheme now requires consent from the Government Office for London.
