The world's biggest construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar is to recruit 300 new workers at its Leicestershire plant.
The recruitment will increase the workforce at its Desford facility by about a third.
The news follows last month's announcement by JCB that it would recruit 200 new staff, and signals a return of confidence to the construction machinery sector.
Caterpillar said the bulk of the jobs would be created on the manufacturing floor. The move follows a shift of production of an excavator to the factory from the USA.
