Mansell has been awarded a £22.3m contract to construct seven multi-storey student accommodation blocks at Mansfield Hall in Reading by Unite.
The development will comprise traditional and modular build of 604 bedrooms, 132 kitchens and 36 stair modules. A central reception and common room will also be constructed. The project is aiming to achieve a BREEAM “Very Good” rating.
The works also include the demolition and clearance of the existing buildings and road widening.
Construction is anticipated to complete in July 2011.
This will be the latest in a series of projects Mansell has constructed for Unite, the largest provider of student accommodation in the UK, in a relationship dating back to 2001.
