Stradform has been awarded a £17m deal to build student accommodation for the University of Glamorgan in Pontypridd, south Wales.
The design and build contract is for a 500-bed facility on the university's Treforest campus.
The en-suite self-catered accommodation will be built on the main campus site and replace an existing 380-bed facility.
The development, which Stradform must construct to a BREEAM Excellent rating, is scheduled to be completed by August 2011. There is the possibility of a first phase build of around 150 rooms being built by August 2010.
Four contractors bid for the project.
