Developer cum construction manager Urban Splash has received planning permission for a £60m waterfront regeneration at Irvine Harbour, Ayrshire.
The firm, which is partnering with Irvine Bay Regeneration Company on the 5ha site, will develop 360 new homes, 30,000 sq ft of cafes, restaurants, shops and offices, and a hotel.
The plans were approved by North Ayrshire Council but will also require the endorsement of the Scottish Government.
Omar Elmi, commercial director at Irvine Bay Regeneration Company, said: “The transformation of Irvine Harbour and the creation of a vibrant place with stunning views and a wonderful location is a key part of our plans for the area.
“Our remit is to work with our partners to create successful, sustainable communities and we believe this proposal will go some way to doing that.”
The scheme is the first Urban Splash project in Scotland.
