Aberdeen contractor in administration

21 Mar 11 Twenty jobs were lost last week when Aberdeen-based building company Camstruction went into administration.

Local accountancy practice Meston Reid & Co. is trying to find a buyer for the business.

According to its website, Camstruction was formed in 1986 as carpentry and joinery business Gordon Campbell (Construction) Ltd, changing its name to Camstruction in 1998. The acquisition of George Simpson & Co expanded its services to all trades.

In 2005, on the retirement of its owner, Camstruction was bought by what was then Jamieson & Allan Construction Ltd, which retained the Camstruction name.

Managing director Ian Jamieson is a past chairman of the Chartered Institute of Building’s Aberdeen Centre, and of the Grampian Construction Training Group.
