The project involves construction of an estimated 140 social housing units complete with engineering services, external and site development works on two sites in Castlewellan Road and to the west of Burrenview Way in Newcastle. Completion is scheduled by March 2013.
O'Hare & McGovern came in with the lowest bid, more than £2m under theinitial estimate of £14m.
Apex has also awarded Eglinton-based Kevin Watson Construction a £5.5m contract to build a proposed development of 67 timber-framed homes in Buncrana Road, Derry. The project will require the construction of boundary reinforced concrete retaining walls and RC ground beams, with the possible addition of expansive areas of RC slabs.
