Appeal court slashes fines for six more

24 Mar 11 Six more contractors have had their Office of Fair Trading fine significantly reduced on appeal.

The Competition Appeal Tribunal held up some, but not all, elements of their complaints regarding the fines, imposed for their roles in the mass industry practice of cover pricing.

Galliford Try’s fine of £8,333,329 was reduced on appeal to £1,395,000.

Apollo saw its £2,150,536 fine cut to £399,000 by the appeal court.

For Seddon, the penalty was cut from £1,516,646 to £492,000.

Interclass had its fine cut from £464,406  to £324,000.

The penalty imposed on Tomlinson was reduced from £1,269,270 to £468,000.  

Sol’s fine was reduced on appeal from was £1,835,702 to £702,000.
