BAM JV to build 1.3km jetty

12 Mar 12 The BAM Clough Joint Venture has received a letter of intent for a AU$370m (£249m) contract to build a jetty near Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The contract for JGC Corporation, KBR and Chiyoda Corporation joint venture (JCK-JV) will involve design and construction of the loading jetty as part of the Ichthys LNG Project, which is being developed in Darwin by Inpex, as operator, and Total.

The design consists of two separate vessel load-out berths, one for liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and a second for liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) and condensate carriers.

The Y-shaped approach jetty will consist of a 680m leg connecting to the LNG berth and a second 630m, connecting to the LPG/condensate berth to provide access from the onshore facility.
