BAM lands pair of German university contracts

23 Feb 16 BAM has won two contracts with a combined value of €145m (£113m) for university buildings in Düsseldorf and Cologne.

For the Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf, BAM Deutschland will construct a complex of three buildings with a total gross floor area of 38,000m2. The new building, designed by Hascher Jehle Projektgesellschaft, will accommodate offices, laboratories and lecture halls, as well as chemicals storage. The project value is more than €85m. Construction will start this month and is expected to be completed in early 2018.

At the University Hospital in Cologne, BAM Deutschland will build a new oncology treatment centre. The seven-storey building, which has a total gross floor area of 37,000m2, was designed by Medfacilities in cooperation with Kadawittfeldarchitektur. The contract value is more than €60m. BAM expects to complete the project in August 2018.
