B&ES promotes Pettigrew

15 Jul 13 The Building & Engineering Services Association has promoted its deputy chief executive to take over from Blane Judd, who quit two weeks ago after just two years as chief executive.

Roderick Pettigrew takes over as chief executive of B&ES with immediate effect.

President Bruce Bisset said that, having been deputy chief executive since 2008, Mr Pettigrew understood the association and its members better than anyone.

“Rod has worked closely over the past two years with the officer team in developing a vision and strategy for B&ES,” he said.

Mr Pettigrew is the author of Payment under Construction Contracts Legislation, a review of industry payment practices, and served for six years as a vice convener of the cross party group for construction in the Scottish Parliament.

A lawyer by background, he was educated at the University of Westminster and the Inns of Court Law School, and served as legal adviser to the Construction Plant Hire Association before joining B&ES in 1990.
