Bosch is launching a new compact cordless rotary hammer

15 Jun 11 The smallest cordless rotary hammer in its class: The new GBH 14.4 V-LI Compact Professional Cordless Rotary Hammer

Small and handy with a length of 278 millimetres

Weight with battery: only 1.8 kilograms

Pneumatic hammer mechanism for drilling holes of up to 12 millimetres in concrete

Bosch is launching a new compact cordless rotary hammer – the GBH 14.4 V-LI Compact Professional. Weighing only 1.8 kilograms and with a length of 278 millimetres it is the smallest and lightest cordless rotary hammer in its class. The handle and drill shaft are in line with each other due to their design and are therefore perfectly balanced to enable precise work. Comfort and safety are ensured through the use of soft grip coverings and slim handle design. The cordless rotary hammer is designed for applications with small to medium drilling and screw diameters.

The GBH 14.4 V-LI Compact Professional offers 1 joule of impact energy and speeds of up to 680 revolutions per minute. This is continuously variable using an accelerator switch. The pneumatic hammer mechanism enable the tool to drill holes of up to twelve millimetre diameter in concrete. Optimum results are achieved with diameters of four to eight millimetres. By switching the tool setting from “drilling with impact” to “drilling without impact”, it becomes ideal for driving screws for example. The corresponding accessory is quick and easy to change using the SDS-plus system. A further advantage is the LED light which ensures that the work area is well lit.

More battery capacity for even longer runtime

This tool is powered by a lithium-ion changeable battery in the “Compact” class. This battery now offers a runtime of 1.5 ampere hours. Up to 45 holes (6 x 40 mm) can be drilled in concrete with one battery charge. The integrated charge level indicator shows how much energy is left in the battery. If the battery needs to be charged, it is ready for use again after only 45 minutes thanks to the quick charger.

The right tool for every application

Bosch is dividing its entire range of professional power tools with 14.4 and 18 volt lithium-ion battery into three tool classes with different advantages: “robustseries”, “dynamicseries” and “lightseries”. The new GBH 14.4 V-LI Compact Professional cordless rotary hammers are part of the “lightseries”. This series encompasses tools which are particularly lightweight combined with high performance for professional use.

Bosch Premium lithium-ion batteries with “Electronic Cell Protection”

The long lifetime of the Bosch Premium batteries in all three tool classes is due to Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) which protects the battery against overload, overheating and deep discharge. There is also no memory effect and the batteries are ready for use, even if they have not been used for months.
