Designed by Foster + Partners, the new building will be a major venue for concerts and events in Glasgow. It will have a gross internal floor area of 27 500 m² and provide seating for 12 500 people. It is being built on the old car park in front of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC).
Advance works including piling, substructure and underslab drainage and utilities works, were completed last month and have been incorporated within the main works package as a subcontract.
