The Ashton Gate redevelopment proposal is a back-up plan in case Bristol Sport Limited is not able to proceed with its plans to build a totally new £60m stadium at nearby Ashton Vale.

If the redevelopment of the current stadium goes ahead, it should take three years, completing in time for the 2016/17 season. The 'Plan B' project will comprise new stands and widening the pitch. The Wedlock and Williams stands would be demolished and new stands built in their place, while the Dolman and Atyeo stands will be renovated.

The plans will be presented to the local council for approval in the summer
