Buteline helps repair impressive London residence

19 Apr 11 A prestigious North London property has recently been fitted with Buteline’s polybutene plumbing system.

Installed to repair a faulty push fit system, which caused considerable damage to the house, the Buteline system is able to offer complete peace of mind through its leak free guarantee.

Refurbished to an incredibly high standard around six years ago, the property was fitted with a standard push fit plumbing system on the advice of the project’s plumber. Over time however, the hot water and towel rail circuits started to fail, leading to splits in the pipe work, which subsequently caused the system to leak. This point was further exacerbated by the incorrect installation of push fit joints.

As a result, the property suffered a great deal of damage which proved extremely costly to repair. As such, a system was required that would ensure this problem never happened again, leading to the installation of the Buteline plumbing system.

Andrew Harris from Greenserve installed the new plumbing system. He said: “Due to the high end nature of the property, we had to be very careful not to cause any further structural disturbances. As a result, we cut unobtrusive access panels into the floors and walls to feed the pipe through. The flexible nature of Buteline’s polybutene system made it ideal for use in this situation as we were able to thread long lengths of pipe around the existing services with relative ease. Similarly, the use of the new Proclamp tool made installation even easier due to its light weight and the ability to operate it with just one hand.”

“The ‘leak free guarantee’ offered by the Buteline system was particularly attractive to our client who, understandably, was looking to replace the system with one that would not prove to be problematic in years to come or lead to further costly property repairs.”

He continued: “Coming from New Zealand, my business partner, Shaun Smith and I, are very familiar with the Buteline system which has been a market leader in the country for around 30 years. Having had much experience of the system, we were incredibly pleased to find out that it was available in the UK. The simplicity with which the Buteline system works is testament to its popularity in New Zealand, a point of which that made product demonstrations to our staff incredibly easy and has in turn, helped to cut installation time.”

“With copper prices increasing all the time, the Buteline system delivers the ideal alternative and offers a positive step away from traditional push-fit systems. As such, Buteline provides me with the peace of mind that once installed, there will be no leakage problems in the future, owing largely to the innovative clamp seal nature by which the system is fitted.”

Installed using a flame-free clamping system, rather than traditional soldering techniques associated with copper, Buteline provides a quick, safe and easy means by which plumbing systems can be installed, especially in confined spaces. Offering a ‘fit and forget’ means of installation, Buteline is ideal for use in any property where peace of mind is a must.
