CBL joins Case dealer network

20 Feb 14 Case Construction Equipment has appointed Clive Barford Ltd (CBL) as a dealer in the south of England.

CBL will provide sales, parts and service from its sites in Bristol, Newbury and Maidstone. The deal represents an expansion into heavy machinery for CBL, whose hire and sales product line also includes compact Takeuchi mini excavators, Atlas Copco compressors and tools, Bomag compactors, Merlo telehandlers, Thwaites dumpers and Putzmeister concrete pumps.

“We’ve been looking for some time to expand into heavy line business,” said CBL managing director Charlotte Barford. “The feedback we received from existing Case dealers about the products, their reliability, quality and fuel efficiency, was outstanding, and made our decision process very easy.”

She added: “Case is a premium construction equipment brand. Our aim is to look after existing customers and to rebuild the success of the Case brand in this territory. We will provide 100%, support to this brand, which will also include taking on existing warranties. We have the experience and an established base to work from, combined with the investment we have made in bringing on board the right people, and in our facilities, ensures we are in very strong position to grow this business.”

CBL was founded by Clive Barford, Charlotte’s late father, after his family firm Aveling Barford was taken over by British Leyland. Charlotte Barford has been managing director since 1996.
