CCSec provides Taylor Wimpey with total site security

11 May 11 Clarke Construction Security (CCSec), a provider of technology-led security and site safety solutions for the construction and property industries, has begun work on two new projects with Taylor Wimpey.

The projects will provide comprehensive site security at housing developments in Romford and Barking.

As well as CCSec’s monitoring equipment, the security solutions include turnstile access control and web based biometric readers which work using the unique characteristics of a person’s finger.  Every employee or contractor’s details are held online and this ensures that Taylor Wimpey know exactly who is on site and that they are authorised to be there, as well as keeping an accurate log of all employee arrivals and departures.

Site security is becoming increasingly important to building firms as theft of equipment and vandalism  can seriously hinder work and lead to contracts not being completed on time or within allocated budgets.  Taylor Wimpey wanted to move away from the traditional security methods of having guards on site and having successfully worked with CCSec in the past, it was pleased to move to a technology based solution.  The benefits of a technology based solution meant it would remove any risk of human error and give them a system that was completely reliable 24 x 7.

Steve Ellis, Project Manager for Taylor Wimpey commented: “Site safety and security is of great importance to us.  As a large company with building projects taking several years to complete, it’s necessary that we properly guard against theft, which not only costs us money in replacing stolen equipment or materials, but can also delay building projects considerably, costing even more money.  Also from a safety point of view, non-authorised individuals entering sites can, all too often, result in accidents – building sites are not the safest of places and you need to wear the right safety gear and know how to navigate your way around.   We consider site security an absolute necessity in protecting us against these problems and a technology based solution is the best way forward.  We intend to use the Romford site to show case best practice to other project managers throughout our organisation.

”Carl Clarke, Managing Director CCSec added: “We’re obviously delighted to be working with Taylor Wimpey again.  As a forward thinking company, they recognise the benefits that comprehensive, technology-led site security can bring to their business.  Our biometric technology assists them in keeping an accurate record of their many employees and contracting staff and enables them to manage them with greater efficiency.”
