Clark wins £10m of new work

18 Jan 11 Refurbishment and maintenance firm Clark Contracts has announced new contract awards together worth more than £10m.

The new work includes a £2.75m contract from West Dunbartonshire Council for the redevelopment of Clydebank Town Hall, due for completion by the end of 2011. The work is funded through Clydebank Re-built by the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise.

There is also a £2m contract from West Lothian Council for the refurbishment of Meldrum Primary School in Livingston, also scheduled for completion by the end of 2011.

Office fit-out work includes new contracts for Maclay Murray & Spens in Glasgow and CapGemini in Nairn.

Neilston Development Trust has awarded Clark Contracts a £420,000 contract for the conversion of an old bank building in Neilston to a community facility with offices, meeting rooms and a cafe.

Clyde Gateway has appointed the contractor to undertake a £775,000 conversion of an old housing office in Rutherglen to a serviced centre for small businesses.

Some £1m of work has come through Clark Contracts' maintenance division, including reactive and planned maintenance works for 37 branches of JD Sports throughout Scotland.

Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts has grown to employ around 200 staff at offices in Paisley and Edinburgh. Approximately 80% of the company's work is repeat business and six out of ten customers have worked with Clark Contracts for five years or more.
