The 90m- long structure connects Dalmarnock and Shawfield on either side of the river Clyde, improving access to a new transport hub that has been developed around Glasgow’s Dalmarnock Station.

The Smartbridge is so called because it incorporates cable ducting for power and high-speed broadband lines.  In addition, it has the capacity to carry heating to all social housing on the north bank, fed remotely from the south side.

It will be officially opened in July.
