Contractor picked for Swedish highway

13 May 11 NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned to expand the Sweden’s E45 between Tingberg and Glässnäs into a four-lane highway.

The client is BanaVäg i Väst through the Swedish Transport Administration and the order is valued at approximately SEK 450 million (£43.6m).

The stretch of highway is 9.3km long and NCC's assignment also includes building connecting service roads. The phase is the eighth contract to be awarded to NCC in the expansion of the double-track railway and highway between Gothenburg and Trollhättan.

Work will start immediately and the section is scheduled to be ready for traffic by the end of 2012.
