Contractor sought for Nottingham enterprise centre

5 Mar 13 Bids are invited for an office refurbishment project in Nottingham.

NBV Enterprise Solutions Ltd invites expressions of interest from suitably experienced contractors for the refurbishment of an existing office building in the Basford area of Nottingham, converting it into the Pre-Start Community Enterprise Centre.

The aim is to create a business centre with facilities for new and micro businesses, with provision for comprehensive associated business support services in a single location.

The project will involve the refurbishment of the Crown Building on David Lane, Basford, Nottingham NG6 0JT.

Construction work involves:

demolition/alterations, including the removal of asbestos and external glazing.
provision of a new canopy entrance
a new eight-person lift
repairs, cleaning and overcladding of the existing concrete facade
new internal partition walls, glazed screens, doors/windows, wall/floor finishes
kitchen fittings/white goods
installation of mechanical and electrical services
external signage, lighting and CCTV
new hard paved areas
resurfacing an existing car park
replacement of security gates/barriers
relaying existing drainage
lightning protection, smoking shelter, a new substation, cycle and bin stores
new access provision onto David Lane.

NBV Enterprise Solutions is undertaking a two-stage (restricted) tendering process. Organisations are invited to express an interest in the project by completing the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) document.

Following an assessment of PQQs on the ability of organisations to perform the contract according to economic, financial capability, technical and professional ability, NBV will in April 2013 invite a number of firms to submit full tenders for the project.

NBV expects to appoint the successful contractor during June 2013, with the works starting in July 2013 for a period of six months. The form of contract will be the JCT Design and Build Contract 2011 Edition.

The selection of tenderers will be in accordance with ERDF National Procurement Requirements and the Public Contracts Regulations 2006. The award of the contract will be on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender in line with the stated criteria and weightings.
