Contract C412, Bond Street station is the final major construction contract on the project to be awarded.
Contract value will be disclosed after the statutory ten-day standstill period.
Laing O’Rourke Construction and Lend Lease Construction were the other shortlisted bidders. BAM Nuttall/Ferrovial/Kier JV was also invited to bid but chose not to.
At Bond Street, the new station will be delivered through two major contracts – C411 and C412.
The C411 advanced works contract was already awarded to Costain Skanska JV in March 2011.
The C412 contract includes main construction, fit-out and M&E of the Western Ticket Hall (Davies Street) and Eastern Ticket Hall (Hanover Square).
Crossrail chief executive Andrew Wolstenholme said: “Crossrail has now awarded the final main construction contract for the new central section stations. Contracts worth over £5bn have been awarded to-date, providing a much needed boost to the construction industry and the UK economy. The Bond Street Crossrail station contract will create hundreds of new jobs with hundreds more created in the wider supply chain.
“Crossrail will transform access to the West End while also acting as a catalyst for the major development and regeneration of the local area. Twenty-four trains an hour in each direction will pass through the station during peak periods, hugely enhancing the capacity at one of central London’s busiest stations.”
All the other Crossrail station construction contracts have already been awarded:
- C405 Paddington station - Costain Skanska JV
- C435 Farringdon station - BAM Nuttall, Ferrovial Agroman (UK) & Kier Construction JV
- C512 Whitechapel station - Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering, Morgan Sindall & Vinci Construction UK JV
- C502 Liverpool Street station - Laing O’Rourke Construction
- C422 Tottenham Court Road station - Laing O’Rourke Construction
- C520 Custom House station - Laing O’Rourke Construction.
