CPI places 40-unit order with Volvo

6 Jun 11 Hire company Chepstow Plant International (CPI) has placed an order for 40 Volvo construction machines.

The order follows an even larger one for 50 units last year.

The 2010 package comprised excavators, articulated haulers and loading shovels. This year’s order comprises mostly Volvo A25F and A40F articulated haulers with a mix of shovels and excavators ranging from the 16t-class EW160C to the latest 38t EC380D. The package represents both a replacement of old kit and growth to CPI’s fleet of equipment, which is predominantly Volvo branded.

CPI has also taken delivery of the first two Perlini DP405 rigid dumptrucks since Volvo became official dealer for the Perlini range of rigid haulers in June 2010.

CPI managing director John Corcoran said: “Our business has become synonymous in operating quality products for the projects we undertake where high production capacity and high availability is called for. In our opinion, continuing to opt for models from the Volvo range supports a sound business partnership between us, our clients and our supplier.”

All Volvo products supplied to CPI are equipped with CareTrack telematics, providing operational data remotely via the internet, including fuel consumption and idle time.
