Doosan makes changes to Scottish dealer network

27 May 11 Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has announced changes to its network covering Scotland, with existing dealers Lloyd, Scotia Plant and Balgownie all been awarded new Bobcat dealerships.

All three companies are now offering sales and service for the Bobcat range of compact equipment in their respective areas in addition to the Doosan-branded range of excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks.

Inverurie-based Balgownie has been appointed as the Bobcat dealer for Aberdeenshire, Morayshire, Angus (from 2012) and for much of the Highlands and parts of Perthshire and Kinross-shire.

The remainder of Perthshire and Kinross-shire is part of the area now handled by Scotia Plant, based in Coatbridge, which will now represent both Bobcat and Doosan products in the central belt of Scotland.  Scotia Plant will work alongside another Bobcat dealer, George Colliar, based at Kinross.

Lloyd has won the Bobcat dealership for the southern part of Scotland, covering East and South Ayrshire, the Border counties, South Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway.  Lloyd is also the new Bobcat dealer for Cumbria in England.  In both areas, Lloyd is responsible for all Bobcat products except the telescopic handler range from Bobcat.

Balgownie sales director Mike Singer said: “The addition of the Bobcat range is an excellent complement to the Doosan range we represent throughout the North of Scotland.  Bobcat has one of the leading ranges of compact equipment with a superior range of compact loaders, mini-excavators and telehandlers.”

General manager at Scotia Plant Lee Roberton said: “This is a very exciting development for Scotia Plant.  Like our fellow Doosan dealers, the availability and support for the Bobcat range from Scotia will be of great interest to our many customers in construction, demolition, plant hire and quarrying.  The Bobcat range also opens up many new markets for Scotia in arable and livestock farming as well as landscaping and general industry.”

Dealer principal at the Dumfries location of Lloyd Stuart Dalton said: “The Bobcat range extends the quality agricultural, construction, industrial and horticultural equipment we have been offering customers throughout Southern Scotland and Northern England since the 1960s.  I am confident that the wealth of experience and dedication to customer care we have built up since then will allow us to achieve the same success for the Bobcat brand that we have enjoyed with the Doosan range of products.”

Lloyd, Scotia Plant and Balgownie will all offer a full selection of genuine Bobcat accessories and parts to support both new and existing customers in their areas. The new dealers will carry most essential spare parts and provide a back-up service with overnight delivery for other items. The companies all offer service agreements including 24 hours a day coverage, depending on the requirements of the customer.
