This follows clearance from the Office of Fair Trading for Asda’s acquisition of the stores from Netto.
As well as converting Netto stores, Asda also plans to build a further 21 new stores, totally 550,000 sg ft. These include seven Asda Superstores, four Asda Livings and 10 Asda Supermarkets . A further five stores will be extended.
Last week Asda entered into a contract to acquire six stores from Focus DIY. Subject to landlord’s approvals and local planning consents, these will be converted into Asda Supermarkets.
