Fluor wins disaster relief contract

16 Mar 12 Fluor has been awarded a contract to support US emergency recovery efforts following national disasters.

The contract is with the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and involves the provision of technical assessment and project management services. The contract has a potential value of up to US$500m (£319m) over five years.

Fluor’s contract is one of four multiple-award contracts announced by FEMA for these services. The period of performance consists of one base year, with four, one-year renewal options.

The company has already provided technical support services to the FEMA public assistance programme over the last 15 years. “We are very proud of our long legacy helping FEMA assist individuals and communities recover from the devastation of floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and other national disasters,” said president of Fluor government group Bruce Stanski. “Winning this award affirms our ability to perform in the most challenging and difficult circumstances while making life better for those who have been affected.”
