GAP expands lifting division

12 Jan 12 Plant hire group GAP is doubling the branch network of its lifting division, from six to 12.

GAP Lifting Hire & Sales was set up a year ago in January 2011 with a six depots. It has been successful enough to persuade the Anderson brothers that run the business to open another six depots ahead of an initially envisaged timetable of expansion.

There are also plans to open a further six lifting depots before the end of 2012.

The new lifting depots are in Croydon, Kinning Park (Glasgow), Middlesbrough, Northampton, Lancaster and Plymouth.

The six original lifting depots are in Bradford, Birmingham, Bristol, Shotts (Lanarkshire), Tower Bridge (London) and Warrington.

GAP Lifting Hire & Sales has also been admitted as a full member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA).

GAP lifting division manager Paul Glover said: “I am delighted that the success of the first six locations has led to an earlier than planned opening of another six locations. It is great moving forward when others seem to be moving back.”
