GAP Pump Services is the group’s 11th specialist division and has had £18m invested to get it going.

GAP’s pumps are colour coordinated according to their use: drainage, sewage and hydraulics. Equipment has been sourced from mainstream suppliers such as Atlas Copco, DXB pumps and Active Engineering, with pump sizes available from two-inch to 12-inch across the range. New delivery vehicles have also been bought solely for use by the new division.

GAP managing director Mark Anderson said: “GAP has already been heavily involved in the water and utilities industry over the years, so the establishment of this new specialist pumps division will help to cater to our  customers’ needs even further.

“Our pumps are the most efficient, modern models currently on the market and are fitted with telematics systems to ensure complete control for the user. Pump Services also offers silt sifter solutions and chemical dosing equipment as well as ancillaries, such as road crossing pipes and pedestrian ramps.

“Eventually, we plan to have around 15 Pump Services depots throughout the country, ensuring our specialist customer service continues to be of the high standard we hold ourselves to.”

GAP Pump Services will initially operate from the company’s Non-Mechanical and Welfare Services depots in Tilbury, Derby and Tewkesbury. There are plans for Pump Services to open in Bury St Edmunds, Harthill, Warrington and elsewhere.
