GB Building Solutions expands its framework experience

10 Feb 11 GB Building Solutions has been appointed to the four-year Northwest Construction Hub ‘Low Value’ Framework.

This framework has been established to deliver public sector work throughout Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire East and Cheshire West, and Greater Manchester.

The framework is split into twenty Lots and GBBS is appointed to all, giving exposure to new build and refurbishment schemes valued up to £500,000 across the entire Northwest for four years.

Martin Smout, chairman and chief executive of GB Building Solutions, said, “This framework complements our recent success across all Lots on the Northwest Construction Hub Medium Value Framework and our continuing working relationship with Manchester City Council through Framework One and the Housing Investment Framework.

The appointment supports our reputation for bringing added-value to schemes through community engagement and support combined with the creation of local employment and training opportunities, whilst delivering a quality product on time and to budget”

John Lorimer, Manchester City Council Capital Programme Director and NWCH Lead said: “I am pleased with the award of the Low Value Framework, completing the suite of North West Construction Hub Frameworks.

“This Framework, along with the other Construction Hub arrangements, will allow public sector clients to achieve their own efficiency savings, eliminating costly procurement exercises for individual projects, reducing the time it takes to build a project and improve the quality of work. Working in collaboration with our partners also enables other benefits such as training opportunities and apprenticeships that are not obtainable through traditional procurement methods.”
