Graham achieves ISO 14001 accreditation

7 Jun 11 Graham, the plumbers’ merchant, has successfully attained ISO 14001 accreditation at its Bromford Lane, Birmingham branch due to continued improvement of its environmental performance.

ISO 14001, which is an internationally accepted standard, exists to address the balance between maintaining profitability whilst reducing environmental impact. In turn, those purchasing from an accredited merchant, such as Graham, can help to meet the Sustainable Construction target, which states that at least 25% of all construction materials must be responsibly sourced.

Similarly, housing associations and housebuilders integrating ISO 14001 accredited materials are able to gain additional points under the Code for Sustainable Homes standard, making Graham a particularly attractive source of such products.

By meeting the ISO 14001 standard, Graham’s Bromford Lane branch is able to demonstrate its commitment to achieving both legal and regulatory compliance whilst presenting itself as a forward thinking, environmentally aware business.

Ian Kenny, Marketing Director for Graham, commented: “Gaining ISO 14001 accreditation, following strict assessment procedures, demonstrates our dedication to lowering Graham’s impact on the environment. In turn, this accreditation provides our customers with the confidence and assurance that Graham is an environmentally conscious business.”

Celebrating 75 years experience within the industry this year, Graham provides plumbing professionals and general trade customers with the most up to date service available from a plumbing merchant network combined with a wide range of plumbing, bathroom, heating products, renewable energy solutions and heating spares.
