The company is already working with the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), the city and county of Honolulu and the Hawaii State Department of Transportation to oversee the design-build contracts for the rail system’s first two segments.
Aecom will design a 8.4km portion of the elevated rail guideway from Aloha Stadium to the Middle Street transit centre in Kalihi.
The rail system will span 32km from East Kapolei to Ala Moana centre, and is slated to open during 2019.
