The 2013 print edition of the HSS Hire Guide, the company’s product catalogue, includes scanning functionality alongside every product image.
When customers wave their smartphone over images with digital content, the ‘Scan to Hire’ function appears. This takes the customer through to the relevant product on the mobile website and the equipment can be reserved directly from their phone with just a few clicks.
The new App also includes a branch locator, a skip hire instant quote service and a link to the HSS mobile website which is now iPhone and Android smartphone compatible.
HSS sales and marketing director Fiona Perrin said: “We know that lots of our customers are using their phones to find and hire equipment so we wanted to help bridge the gap between paper and digital. We’ve added a digital layer to our Hire Guide with this ‘Scan to Hire’ function – it makes hire on the go even easier and we’re sure our customers will love tapping into this digital innovation.”
