ISG Jackson secures £6.5m Brixton regen scheme

13 May 11 ISG Jackson has secured its latest project as a Genesis Housing framework partner, taking a circa £6.5m fast-track mixed-use regeneration scheme on Acre Lane in Brixton.

The mixed-tenure housing development will be built on the site of a former timber merchant and public house, with ISG Jackson starting demolition works and ground remediation at the end of this month.

The development includes 20 terraced houses to the rear of the site and 40 flats across two blocks facing Acre Lane, with one block incorporating two ground floor commercial units. The traditionally constructed homes will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 rating, with the properties incorporating green roofs and photovoltaic arrays.

The design of the development is set to complement the local built environment with a mix of brick, timber and render façade elements and a central children's play area will also be created as part of the scheme. A phased handover of the site sees the terraced houses completed in March 2012, with the flats delivered in July 2012.
